Fender Squier Stratocaster Review by Dyce Kimura

Fender Squier Stratocaster ReviewFender Squier Stratocaster Review

Hi this is a Fender Squire Stratocaster review by Dyce Kimura.  Check it out. I actually borrowed this guitar from my student. It’s a Fender Squier Bullet Strat and here is what it can do.

Sounds beautiful right?

I am actually pleasantly surprised during this Fender Squire Stratocaster review at how amazing this guitar sounds. I borrowed it from my student. I am actually very familiar with the Squiers. I always recommend that my students buy these. I took a whole day to sort of playing it before making this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.  You be the judge. What do you think? I think it sounds really good. And the price is unbelievable. The link to buying it is below, but I believe the going rate is $133.99.

For advice on how to improve as a beginner guitar player click this blog.  So let’s talk about it briefly the Fender Squire Stratocaster review.

This is a Stratocaster design. Legally you only call a Fender Strat a Strat, just like only the Sony Walkman is a Walkman. So this is a Fender Strat design made in Indonesia, of all places, but they did a good job.

This is a satin finish neck. It’s got the skunk stripe with a rosewood finish. It’s a nine and a half inch radius neck, which I like. It is very slim.  One thing I noticed during this Fender Squire Stratocaster review is it is very comfortable for children, for women and obviously for men. But even for children like 10, 11 years old can comfortably grab this neck. Look at how small that neck is. It’s not too small which I like. There is another Fender that goes for about $99 and it has an even slimmer neck like a 70’s style. This is kind of more like a 60’s style neck. It is a slim C-neck for beginners.

I noticed it stays in tune really well during this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.  I put these brand new strings on for this video and its doing great so far and staying in tune. If you like electronics, you have single, single, humbucker. So this is called SSH. When you go to buy it on Amazon you can select SSH or the SSS. In case you are wondering, the SSS is going to be single, single, single, and that’s going to be more of a blues sound. If you ever want to get into a rock sound you can get a single, single, hum. The only difference is that this one pickup is a humbucker, not a single quo and it allows you to play similarly aggressive sounds.

So let me demo some of the more aggressive sounds it can do for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.

Actually, I’m going to play for you, first, some of the more subtle sounds.

First, here is the front pickup.

Here is the fourth position, which is one selection back. So hear is the fourth position.

This is one of my favorite Strat tones that i am showcasing for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.  Actually, if you let me play one of my favorite Hendrix songs with my favorite Strat position- this is fourth position Fender Squier. Check it out.

Fender Squier Stratocaster ReviewBeautiful.

The truth is, I have a whole lot of really expensive guitars back here- two, three, four thousand dollar guitars, and I am really enjoying this guitar for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.  It is very inexpensive. The going rate is $133 right now on Amazon. It changes by a few dollars here and there- shipping. But it just sounds amazing for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review, right?

Here is that middle pickup. I am going to click it back into position to the middle pickup.

You get kind of a bluesy nasal kind of wind. Actually, if you don’t mind I am going to just play some blues for you for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.  Some Stevie Ray Vaughan style.

So that sounds really good. That’s the middle pickup.

Now I am going to show you what’s called the second position for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review. It’s going to be a blend between this middle pickup and the bridge. It’s going to be out of phase. Actually, let me bring down the gain a little bit.

It’s a little bit crispier.

I actually rarely use that position on a guitar that is humbucker and single because I do not like to blend the two necessarily. I usually go either or. But I just wanted you to hear it to hear what it sounds like for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.  I’ll play a little of “knocking on heaven’s door” for you. Just to give you a feel.

Here’s that back pickup. I put this all the way back. It’s hard to see because it is white on white, but I put this all the way back and I am going to play this bridge. for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.  I am going to give myself a little more gain.

Sounds good. Check it out.

I am just jamming a little bit on “sun shine of your love”.

This can do all you want it to do- Punk Rock, Green Day.

I like the lead sound on this bridge pickup as well for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.

A little Lenny Kravitz is there for you as well- “Always on the run”.

Anyway, just jamming for you so you can get a feel for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.  Feel free to comment, let me know what you think about the sound. A lot of people are really blown away when they come to my studio and hear it. They can’t believe that such a great sound is coming out of such an inexpensive guitar.

So just to be fair, I want to give you the disclaimer of all the gear I am using right now. I am using a Hughes and Kettner head- the Hughes and Kettner tubemeister 36 head. I am using two TS808HW hand-wired tube screamers. Sometimes I just use one, sometimes I use two. I am using monster cables, mogami cables, GHS boomer 9-42 gauge strings. I am using Tortex Dunlop Point .73 millimeter picks. That is it. That’s what I am using for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.

It is a really light guitar. Probably 4 or 5 pounds. Do not think light is a bad thing, it resonates really well. If you are going to get it, I suggest-if you are an advanced player- to put a stop block on this tremolo. It just stabilizes it. I’m not a big fan of the tremolo system. But it works.

Let me just jam for you a little bit. Here’s like some Santana stuff for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review.

That’s pretty much what I wanted to show you. This guitar can really get down. If you humor me, I will do a little bit more jamming for you- just to have some fun for this Fender Squire Stratocaster review This is going to be an E minor track.
